A Wonderful Collection of Timepieces

The Beyer Clock and Watch Museum is housed in Zurich's most prestigious shopping district, situated in the very heart of the city, in the premises of the Beyer watch store. The exhibition comprises some 270 pieces from all fields of chronology, which are examined in technical and scientific terms as well as from an art-history point of view. The museum is home to one of the most important horological collections in the world. It recounts the complete history of timekeeping from 1400 BC to the present day.

    Pretty cool but small.
Very nice but small clock museum with unusual time pieces and great technology as you receive an Ipad to read about each exhibit. I wish they had a much better gift shop. Worth a visit.

    Beyer Clock Museum
Nice little museum, downstairs from the actual Beyer Shop in town. Has an interesting range of clocks from different countries and eras. I'm not a watch/clock freak, but I did enjoy reading and seeing this little uniquely interesting museum. It's free with the Zurich card and they provide you with Ipad information for English translation. If you wanted to read up on everything you could spend the whole afternoon here - but an hour (or 2) would suffice. Would recommend - especially for a rainy day activity when you want to stay dry!
