A picturesque place

We came here by motorbike during a hot summer day and it was much cooler (since it's in the mountains). An amazing place to have some rest!

Wonderful for a peaceful walk
Park at any place and consider walking all the way around - it will take some time (3 hours?) - alternatively, just take a stroll. Wonderful and relaxing - Swimming yes - not the warmest lake in Switzerland (in winter often frozen...) but nice

Calm lake in a verdant valley
Serene lake at the very southwestern edge of Switzerland in the Jura Vaudois, near to the border with France. The area is famed for its watchmaking history. We did a drive around the lake, but it is actually possible to walk around the entire lake, the distance is ~22km, I understand. We were here on a Sunday, and were rather surprised to find that most restaurants in the villages were either closed or totally booked out, but we did finally manage to find a place to eat in Le Pont (at La Creperie sur les Quais). If you plan to visit this area on a weekend, it would probably make sense to research ahead of time and make reservations for lunch (top accolades seem to go to the Hotel de la Truite which was totally booked out during our visit).
