An artificial lake that looks stunningly real with an area of 4.18 km² at an altitude of 900m; the primary outflow is the Wägitaler Aa. Suitable for hiking, boating and fishing. fishing tackle and boats can be rented. The reservoir dam became operational in 1924 and produces about 120 million kWh of energy per year (for those who are interested in technical aspects) The depth is about 65m. There is a narrow road to circumnavigate the lake but it is advisable to walk rather than drive around. The views are stunning.

Artificial alpine lake
Nice small artificial lake just up from Lachen at the Northern Obersee end of Lake Zurich. Located at an elevation of 915 m, easy drive to the village of Innerthal, easy drive also around the lake, but the roads are very narrow, so take your time and slow down around the bends. The best location for photography is from the dam at the northwestern corner of the lake just as the Wägitalstrasse joins the Seestrasse.
