Impressive collection of Buddhist/Himalayan art

Visited this museum in November 2022. It is an impressive collection of sculptures, paintings and objects. The QR code museum guide gives detailed descriptions and information on each object. The museum is housed inside a renovated chapel and the main exhibition chamber is quite beautiful. The lady at Reception was lovely to chat to, and was very informative.

    A small but beautiful and mesmerising museum
    Stemming from collector Alain Bordier, who amassed the 300 or so artefacts housed in this museum, a visit here is an an absorbing experience. Dimly yet boldly lit, the golden exhibits, densely packing the two rooms, shine brightly through the red light. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is an app to download that gives information on the exhibits (the rooms would be too dark to read text next to the descriptions). You can read this if you like, or just wander the rooms and take in the beauty of the objects.

    Very peaceful and a joy to visit
    The Tibaten Museum seems like a hidden treasure. It is remarkably calm and peaceful and has a special aura to it. The artefacts on display are clean and well presented. The staff were lovely and the shop was small but had plenty to choose from. The museum is included in the Swiss Pass and is next to a beautiful chateau and the Giger museum and Bar. Well worth a visit whatever your spirituality.
