Fantastic Castle!

Gruyères Castle has stood proudly atop a verdant hill in the heart of Switzerland since the 13th century. Pick and mix castle
In a medieval town there is of course a castle. This particular castle is in Gruyère a small town in Canton Fribourg. The outside appearance of this chateau-castle is as you would imagine a fairy tale castle to appear. The view from the castle to the valley and the snow covered mountain is amazing and just beautiful. The people at the reception are very kind and cheerful. I would advise you to carry a small bag or even better none at all the reason for that is you have to carry it on your front or hold it which is uncomfortable. The rooms were a bit disconcerting as it was a mixture of different eras from Middle Ages, baroque to moderne. Also acclaimed artist had there intervention. The rooms didn’t seem to blend well and there was no specific order. There weren’t a lot of historical information about the place only a small text about each room. In conclusion the venue and building are very nice and worth seeing but the inside is different and not very interesting. A great place to go if you are in the area but I wouldn’t travel there especially to see it.

Amazing
An amazing castle located at the top of the mountain. Adjacent to the castle there is a small village, with narrow streets and souvenir shops. Downstairs there are extensive gardens. I especially liked the HR.GIGER museum that designed the monsters for the ALIEN movie
