Great place to learn...
With assured snow, on-site rental and great instructors this is a brilliant place to experience your ‘first snow’. Private lessons available for ski and board and prices marginally better than those offered at the main Grandvalira resort. It’s a well groomed slope that’s very quiet and aimed at the absolute beginner. An excellent place to practice newly learned skills. The hotel also offers a good menu (from midday to seven) and drinks to ensure you are fuelled for your experience. For the younger visitor separate areas for sledging and playing are also available. Recommend for novices and families with young children wanting a safe environment.

Small Ski Area
This is a very small ski area for beginners in the Grandvalira resort. There’s not a great deal here and intermediate/ professional skiers will want to keep away as there’s nothing there for them.

Some people like to sleep
I have stayed in Canaro in the end of February and the hotel is quite good. It’s far from the lift but it is compensated with the free transport and lockers by the lift. Room is of a decent size and clean, installations are quite good as well. It’s a shame they insist in playing some horrible music real loud in the bar external area which keep gusts awake until 11pm what is quite disrespectful. After have stayed all day sking one wants to sleep and rest early for the next day. Funny fact, there is abdolute nobody in outside area listening to the music, just the guests on the rooms above the bar. Upon contacting reception they said sorry, it’s not 11 pm yet, so party goes on. The best about it? Next day by 8 am the bar is opened again!!!! If you to ski and rest, stay away from Canaro.
