Amazing day out, really worth it
What an amazing place, when we realized the price for a family of 4 we initially felt it was a little high, but we soon changed our mind and realised it's actually exceptional value for money. We decided to go her instead of one of the big water parks as our children usually get bored of water parks after an hour or so, and this placed looked like the perfect compromise. Firstly the animal park, there's a great variety of animals and they are really well cared for, the enclosures are clean and they have plenty of space. The planting and theming around the park is amazing, there's plenty of big trees and plants creating shade to provide some respite from the sun. The animal shows are really good, the dolphins where fantastic, as was the bits of prey show. Unlike other similar venues, we really felt like they weren't trying to squeeze us for every cent. The food was brilliant, we went to the sit-down restaurant and had a great meal for a family for of 4 for around €60 including drinks. My only criticism on food is it's hard to get drinks and ice creams throughout the day as all the vending machines only accept coins - an upgrade to contactless payment would be ideal. The water park is great, it's not huge, but just enough to keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours and cool down, the slides are great and the queues were quick. Overall a really enjoyable day, we came away raving about what a great time we'd had, certainly one of the highlights of our holiday. Suggested itinerary to beat the queues, get ther for 09.15 if you can (gates open at 0930 and buses start to arrive about 10) head to the dolphin show at around 11.15 (11.30 start) to get a front row seat. If you want lunch after, leave the show as soon as it finishes and head straight for the restaurant as it gets very busy very quick. After lunch, aim to go to the birds of prey show at 13.00 (get there 10 mins early) sit near the back as the birds fly over your heads and you'll get a great experience, after that, spent the rest of the day in the pools and walking around as you see fit.

    Great time but slightly overpriced
Visited with my 10 year old son. We booked online the night before and it was €60/£52 for one adult and one child. Personally despite really enjoying ourselves I think that is a bit steep and would have thought around £40 for us would have been more appropriate, also child price was only to age 12. I saw there was a free bus but the park opens at 09.30 and the bus for our area (Puerto del carmen) was around 10.30-10.50. I decided to just walk as the distance from our hotel was only 0.8 miles and it took 20 mins. Luckily the weather wasn’t too hot at this time. On arrival there was a handful of people there and we pretty much felt we had the whole park to ourselves for over an hour! So definitely worth coming before the bus loads get here. We watched the parrot, dolphin and sea lion shows. We missed the birds of prey as we were In the waterpark by then. The shows were all amazing and the animals seemed very happy and eager to get their fishy treats! I think my favourite was the dolphin one. I think I was maybe expecting a few more animals but from what we did see all of them seemed happy and healthy. We ate at the pool bar which was very reasonably priced. €5.50 for cheeseburger and chips, some of the other meals looked amazing, maybe the cowboy one? Loads of meat basically for €10. We got a sunbed easily, very few in the shade but we got 2 and my son loved the 2 waterslides, struggled to get him off them! He wasn’t impressed the main pool was saltwater though. I had a dip in the pool and a go on the slides and enjoyed them all. Such a good idea having the waterpark with the zoo, especially when the weather was as hot as it is! Lockers were €7 and you got €5 back once you handed the key in. Pick up time on the free bus for our resort was 17.20, park closes at 17.30, other bus pick ups were 16.00 and 17.10. We got a taxi home as it was only 3 Euro but for people further away obviously it’s worth sticking to the free bus. Plenty of taxis waiting in the car park.
