Like many others on here, I never experienced the punt trips. Next time I'm in Cambridge, I will do that for sure. The photos tell me I missed out on a few things. My riverside experience was still good and I saw a few different parts of it due to the amount of walking I did . I recommend taking a walk along the river where you will see different bridge styles, different punting trips, birds, people on their boats, old boats and it's a delight for someone like myself hailing from a built up city. I much prefer this!

    Worth a look for views of the bridges and river
    The area around where the punts are and the mathematical bridge is nice and worth having a look at and walk around. We could not walk along the river to view the university grounds, access iwas via an expensive punt ride only when we were there. There is a pub for refreshments and a green space for a picnic, hence giving 1-2 hour time length rating. 20 minutes will be enough if you are just walking around the city.
