    Worth a quick visit
I live in Mayaguez and had an hour to wander around Cabo Rojo. The museum was easy to find, clean, bright and airy. I'm glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews. The employees were welcoming, and space clean and the bathrooms stocked. I learned a lot about PR and Cabo Rojo history. The written information is all in Spanish, but even if you don't know the language you can appreciate the art. We went in January 2016. The employee explained that since it is an election year they can't hand out their usual pamphlets because it has the mayor's name and it and would be considered election propaganda, which aparently against the law leading up to an election. haha

    sad place
Followed the signs while in Cabo Rojo and found the Museo de los Proceres. Impressive building outside, falling apart inside. Hard to believe this was built in 1995. You will notice water damage everywhere throughout the museum. Spent a half hour looking around, nothing in english, no one ever approached me, the "greeter/receptionist" never looked up, and wasn't sure why this museum exists. Went to three museums in San German that were much better and the "docents" really did want to help the traveler with information about the area. The town of Cabo Rojo is interesting especially at night around the square but you can skip this museum, you really won't miss much.
