A beautiful mountain lake,
A very deep mountain lake that has lots of shoreline w/o houses, it does get crowded in certain areas and you have , like all lakes, boaters that have no clue on how to drive a boat or the rules

Cleanest Water in Tennessee
Boating, fishing, camping and watching are all good activities on the lake. We had lunch (a couple of times) at the Captain's Table which affords scenic views of the lake. Definitely worth visiting.

Wilbur Lake, A Hidden Gem!!
This really isn't so much about Wautauga, but more about Wilbur Lake. Wilbur feeds from Wautauga and is very cold and clear. Can see many trout. Is a small lake, around 75 acres I think. very cold and deep in spots. A great place to paddle and very peaceful!! No bass boats!!! Wilbur and Wautauga have a lot to offer!!!
