Quiet beautiful island

We were here on Eid (bayram) day expecting everything to be closed, to our surprise the boats were still running. A lovely quiet little island with accommodating people. We had tea in a pink shop just on the water front. So relaxing. The boat ride was lovely we opted for the sultan boat which was 500TL beautiful scenic views. Would recommend our 3 children aged 8,6 and 3 loved it too.

    Relaxing Lake
    This place is very popular so I can imagine during the warmer months it is very crowded. Very relaxing just sitting by the lake if you don't want to take a boat ride, Lots of locals selling from their houses. Unfortunately all that looks good, doesn't taste good as I found with some marmalade I bought. It was very cheap and at least the bottle if colourful on display. Always have cash with you. A feature is the massive old "Crying Tree" - very unusual the way it has grown. They have a small enclosure for the wild cats to come and go. I like these old untouched places - nothing modern here.

    great day out
    went here in march but it was still buzzing with people taking in the local boat trips, food, ice cream and tea. there is an old tree here and a bridge onto the island which you can walk round easily. local produce sold on the road side. the road does end in a carpark but it is not too expensive .
