Good Exhibits on Haydn's Life
After visiting the Haydn Explosiv at the Esterhazy Palace, visiting Haydn's house fleshed out his story. It was fascinating to learn more about his life. There were even a few funny stories too. Exhibits were well done and there's plenty of English.

Must see for Haydn fans
This is such a great museum. We spent over an hour here and could have stayed longer listening to the informative audio guide (free) and looking at all the interesting exhibits. The building gives you a great feel for what it might have been like when Haydn lived here. When we were here, there was a fantastic exhibition describing Haydn’s amazing 2 journeys to London in 1792 and 1794. Gives a fascinating insight in to travel at that time and all the people and places that Haydn met and visited on his journeys. Highly recommend a visit here!

Museum of a period of Haydn's living in Eisenstadt
Entry from the street, after paying the admission charge, one climbs a single flight of stairs and enters the first of a series of rooms depicting how the Haydn's lived. Lightly furnished with period pieces, the initial rooms give a feel for late eighteenth century life. I found the kitchen most interesting. The rooms on the (self-guided) tour then focus on the musical aspects, with period instruments and scores. At entry you are offered either a written guide or an audio guide; I chose the lengthier written guide, later regretting that I didn't get the audio tour.
