Surprisingly good local destination
Private open air museum showing traditional Burgenland village. Buldings are concetrated in a small (=nice) area, interiors are richly equipped. Short distance from Vienna or Bratislava, extra recommended when staying longer by eastern part of Neusiedler See.

A Must to be visited
Here is the vision of one person to document the historic setting atypical of many early Burgenland towns into one simple setting in Moenchhof; he did all that on his own family property with volunteers and hard labour; what an achievement ,,, congratulations. An absolute experience that MUST not be missed when visiting this beautiful part of Austria. We are so glad our family took us there, thank you.

Super museum village - wow!
We got into the village for free with our Neusiedlersee guest cards. Without these it costs €9 which is still excellent value as there is so much to see. There are numerous houses, shops, barns, a church, old caravans, wine cellars and much more to see. Every building is packed with treasures and history. It really is like going back in time. Extremely interesting and so well presented. A real gem in this area of Austria. You will not regret a visit here!
