Lake Atanasovsko, Burgas Province, Bulgaria

4.5 (12 reviews) Spent Ranking #14 in Burgas Bodies of Water

An authentic Bulgarian experience

We travelled to Bulgaria from the UK as a family with 2 boys aged 12 and 8. We got a taxi here from Nessebar which cost 70 lev. This is an authentic Bulgarian experience with few tourists which we loved. In fact our hotel reception had little knowledge of the place. It cost us 5 lev entrance to bathe and float in the pink lake and subsequently cover ourselves in mud. There are showers available after for a small cost and a cafe serving snacks and drinks. All in all this was a fantastic holiday experience that I would recommend to others. Definitely a few hours well spent.

Lots of birds and good walking area
Beautiful lake area with some trails that offer great bird watching. Very quiet and not many people around, but lots of birds and a very pretty area. There are a few story boards on some of the trails/dirt roads. Good place to take a long nature walk.

    Entrance fee
The lake is amazing, but the entrance is 2 leva, also toilets are 0,50 lv and showers I think 1 leva. There's is an eco mini bus driving from central beach to the lake, one way is 1,50 lv, they're driving very often through all day. Otherwise is around 2 km of walking or bicycling.
