    Hi level Museum
Most of the people even in Burgas don;t know where is the Historical Museum. The expo is one of the best in teh region and in Bulgaria. Must visit.

    Evocative pictures of 'Old Burgas'
It's a small museum which in true Bulgarian style only seems to have one person working there, and possibly only turns its lights on when it has visitors. Having got to know Burgas a bit, we were intrigued to see the photographs and line drawings of Burgas as it was as far back as the 1800s all the way through the Ottoman years to more recent communist times. The descriptions are in English on the ground floor where there are also a few glass cases full of archaeological finds and an array of guns. Downstairs is only in Bulgarian, where the exhibits were of a more revolutionary nature. (April Uprising etc) At the time we went the upstairs was closed, but the museum is housed in a beautiful old-style Burgas house which in itself was fascinating to be inside. Certainly worth the small entrance fee and helped pass 45 minutes with our guests!
