Three Whale Rock, Bueng Kan Province, Thailand

OMG this needs to be a Thailand landmark

This place is so breathtaking I’m surprised it’s not more well known. The “3 whales” are 3 gigantic rocks sticking out of a cliff: the Father, Mother & Baby Whales. Visitors can walk out on the Father & Mother, not the Baby. The Father protrudes out furthest and is the narrowest, but strangely it’s not as vertigo inducing as the Mother which is wider but with sloping sides so you are aware you can slip off and fall 300 meters to the valley below! Photo tip is to stand on the Father rock & let someone take the photo from the Mother rock. The rocks are part of a national park complex that has other beautiful spots too, like Elephant Rock, etc. At the ticket office you can rent an entire pickup truck for 500 baht (driven by the park ranger guides) and they have designed stops along the way.

    Very special place
Wow, wow, wowzer. Never seen something like this before. The long trip to get there from Bangkok was worth while it. This rocks are just phenomenal. Fantastic service there as well. No fee to get into the national park but one can get a pick up truck for 500 THB who drives one from sight to sight. Or walk it. If you fit 10 people on it its 50 TBH a head. Tour guide / driver was super nice and gives information to the sights. The tour takes 2h with the pick up truck. I believe the mornings are the best. Sunrise is obviously the best time to be there. It might become a new tourist attraction for foreigners as soon as the borders open again. So you might visit this place rather earlier than later.

    Very Cool Rock Formations
These rocks really do look like 3 whales. You have to pay for a truck ride up. Overall the length is about 2 hours with all the stops at various view points. The 3 whales are the main attraction and a great spot for photos. It’s windy up there so hang on to your hat! The “child” whale is too narrow to walk on but you can walk on the “mother” and “father” rocks. There are no guard rails so proceed with caution.
