Amazing! Thakhek Loop.

Nestled below the foothills of limestone karsts, narrow rays of sunlight escaping the trap of nearby trees shimmer in the turquoise ripples. It’s not just a Cool Pool. It’s an M&S Cool Pool (fellow Brits will understand this reference). Mouth-watering descriptions aside, it really is a beautiful, calm and tranquil place below limestone mountains. If you’re on the Thakhek Loop I thoroughly recommend using this to get respite from the heat. The scenery on the dirt road leading up to the Cool Pool is amazing! Wide, open fields with misty mountains in the background. I jumped in with my clothes on and the wet clothes helped keep me cool on the motorbike until they dried. Lots of locals use this for swimming and a few asked me for a photo and then kindly offered me a beer! There was some rubbish strewn about the floor however there is a rubbish bin and the workers tend to keep it clean as best they can. Loved swimming in here!
