Excellent thematically structured gallery with pictures from many major artists
We went to the gallery on the North side of the river a bit out of the centre. The gallery’s thematic structuring is some of the best I’ve seen, with really interesting parallels made between works in different styles and from different eras. There were works by all the great French impressionists, a surprising number of Picassos and many excellent Czech artists I had never come across. Good mix of paintings and sculptures. Very quiet October when we went. We’ll worth the trip.

    Great artist exhibition
We visited the Moscow Gothic exhibition as well as the free exhibition. The Moscow Gothic was very well structured and interesting. The artists background and motives were well described and connected with the art pieces. Definitely worth a visit and the small fee. The free exhibition had great pieces from different collections in a good setting. Here the structure was less apparent than in the artist exhibition but still very interesting. The staff was friendly and the museum was easy to reach with the tram. Sadly some parts were exclusively in Czech, but that didn't undermine the experience greatly.
