This nature center is close to my house and I really enjoyed visiting it. they have a very lovely boardwalk nestled among the trees and marsh and also a lookout tower, its not a long board walk I think it's about one third of a mile...they also have a nature center for kids and a few animals in there! I love taking my nephews to see the resident owl :) if you're looking for something low key but fun to do check it out! See more..

This is a large and very varied park. All of which is immaculate. We came for a nice open-air walk, no golfing this trip. Although most people were not wearing makes, it was a nice breezy day and you could always move away from people. It is such a calm and happy place. From the father/son flying a kite, people playing in the dog run with their dogs, picnics under the pavillions to people using watercraft. Everyone is enjoying themselves. So many things to do here. We even saw a bunch of adults playing Dodge ball. Plenty of open space. Worth the drive. See more..

Florida nature without technology was a pretty hostile environment. Here you can get a brief idea of natural conditions without the hazards of breaking your own trail. There is free parking and concrete trails so you can easily observe the Florida dunes and tropical wildlife, both flora and fauna. It's good for geocaching, too. See more..

Be sure to visit the Storywalk trail (.07 miles) with your children and read about nature along the way. The Boca Raton Public Library features a rotating children's book - the current one is The Bugliest Bug Paperback by Carol Diggory Shields - in page posts along the trail to make the experience very entertaining. Storywalk is sponsored by the Friends of the Boca Raton Public Library in conjunction with the City of Boca Raton Recreation Services and Palm Beach County. See more..
