Overall a great stay over and lots of fun
We stayed in the Legoland resort hotel in the Friends room. It was lovely and spacious and the beds were comfortable. So nicely decorated and my 5yo adored the animals, decor and the gift we had to find from the safe. We had tickets for the day of our stay and also the day we were checking out. I definitely recommend buying the reserve a ride option, as queues that were saying 30mins turned into 1 hour and half, and when you have 2 under 6’s like we did, the wait in the queue was too long. It would’ve been nice if Legoland had certain points in the queue’s where they warn you of the waiting time on the indoor rides, as queuing isn’t visible, so you have that option once you see where you are in the queue to turn around and leave the ride early enough. The only ride we didn’t enjoy was the Laser Raiders in the land of Pharaoh. This was because it was a long wait indoors, although it did have a section for children to sit down and watch Lego TV, but it was frustrating to see staff were taking photos of families near the beginning of boarding the ride and it wasted time, we opted out as we didn’t see the point in holding up the queue and we felt this should’ve been an option after the ride was finished. And we didn’t like the rapids, it wasn’t very scenic like other theme parks, the walk up the hill was steep and the ride itself was very bumpy, not ideal for children that won’t like being thrown around, I’m 37 yo and it hurt my hip. Overall great experience, and the refillable drinks option was well worth it too. They had fizzy drinks as well as a free water options, and for those not wanting fizzy drinks there was the option of Fanta drinks with no bubbles (still Fanta). Food can be a tad on the expensive side, working out £10 for a meal and probably worth taking packed lunch as there were lots of areas designated for this. Staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, especially the funny entertainer in the reception of the hotel, he entertained the kids really well whilst some of the adults got their rooms keys, that was a great touch… the option to check in online 3 days earlier saved us going to the desk, all we had to do was enter our code at a kiosk in reception (code was via text), and then we confirm our details and state how many keys needed for our duration of stay, they were then instantly printed out for us but if you have multiple rooms then remember what key was designated to what room number, it saved us a lot of hassle and time, great work Legoland.

    Good bits and bad bits
Having a 2 day pass ( Saturday and Sunday) the Sunday morning experience was the best because the queuing wasn't bad at all. Saturday involved endless queuing and by the time we got on to the ride we were feeling very fed up and children were irritable. The Flight of the Sky Lion experience was fantastic, out of this world ( literally) other rides we're ok, but some very underwhelming. We made the mistake of not taking food, and the catering facilities were awful and very expensive. Lots of young staff, most of whom seemed rather inept, we are definitely missing the hardworking and cheerful Europeans ( thanks Brexit!). I don't think I'd recommend Legoland to anyone unless they go at a very quiet time and take their own food.
