It's about 1 hour drive from Brunei capital.The township,Seria is the heart of oil industry of Brunei.It's an excellent place for family outing. You will see numerous nodding donkeys in & around the town( unofficial symbol of the town ).Our first stop was the majestic Billionth Barrel Monument,a monument to commemorate the one billionth barrel of crude oil production in 1991. Then we went to the oil & gas discovery center,a landmark of Brunei.It's a science based interactive center & serves both educational & recreational purposes for younger generation.Not far from this place,we went to a nearby beach & enjoyed a fantastic sunset.

Ok only if you have kids
It was nice to take photos outside, but inside was meh. For me it was not worth the admission fee. I learned more about the Oil & Gas industry in Brunei in Brunei Museum than here in OGDC. I guess I expected more info and displays related to oil and gas since Seria is the oil town. But if you're already in Seria area, then it's ok to drop by and spend some time here. But definitely not worth the trip from BSB if this is your main purpose in Seria.

Closed for business
We visited in December 2019 and the centre was a construction site. Could find no information about when it was going to open. Don't waste the trip as the drive along the coast is very interesting - rigs everywhere including out to sea visible from the coastline. We stopped off at a couple of picnic spots along the river and saw a crocodile at one of them.
