The ever-changing Bird’s Nest
Every time I come to the Bird’s Nest (also known as Niaochao National Stadium, Beijing National Stadium and National Stadium), something different is happening at the Bird’s Nest. This unique venue is used for an increasing number and variety of events. It was the main stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Dinner at the Bird’s Nest & soon, ski jumping to follow
I attended a celebration dinner held in a VIP box of the Niaochao National Stadium (aka, Bird’s Nest Stadium and Beijing National Stadium). It was quite a privilege. The Chinese cuisine was exotically presented and delicious. They continue to come up with innovative ways of using the stadium. A ski jump is currently being installed.

Huge and still one of the most recognizable stadiums in the world
Beijing National Stadium, the so-called Bird's Nest, site of the 2008 Olympic Games. The stadium is located in the Olympic Park on the northern outskirts of the city. It is impressive from the outside. The winners of the competition for the design of the construction of the most important facility the Swiss team Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron said to have been prompted to use a net-like form by studying Chinese ceramics. The Chinese artist and architect Ai Weiwei was responsible for the artistic vision of the building. The construction of the Bird's Nest began on December 24, 2003 . The stadium with a capacity of 91,000 viewers has the following dimensions: length 330 m, width 220 m, height 69.2 m. Despite the end of the Games, it is still an important tourist attraction.
