So much more than just a bookstore

Of course you will find here your next good read and you can exchange your old books too. But beside of that you will meet a really nice person who offers you some tea and makes you feel warmly welcome. I just come here from time to time to talk and wayan teaches me a little bit indonesian. So if you be in padang bai don't miss this lovely place.

A hidden oasis for book lovers and travellers
Right across the street from the entrance to the relatively secret White Sands Beach is a small, unassuming sign indicating Wayan's bookstore. It felt strange that a bookstore could be hidden in this small, residential street, but as we had some time, we followed the sign and only 20 meters back from the road, up an adorable alleyway, we came to Wayan's bookstore. It was truly a little oasis! Wayan's shop is compact but he has hundreds of books in multiple languages! A great selection at very reasonable prices, Wayan's book shop offers a quiet place to browse while enjoying the cool ocean breeze and of course, some coffee, snacks and great conversation. If you're a bookshop lover, looking for something to read on your holidays, or even just mildly curious and in the area, this little shop is definitely worth your time. We had had a hot, frustrating day, but taking the chance on following that little sign up to Wayan's book store turned everything around and we left an hour later feeling refreshed and glad that we had done so.

    Very nice Bookstore! Insider Tipp!
Very nice Bookstore! Near pathway to the white sand beach. English books as well as some other languages, e.g. German, are available including classics, fiction, travel books, etc. I bought my Bali guide there. You can also exchange books, but, of course, don't forget to tipp. The owner is extremely kind, so I'm sure you'll love this place. Some massage oil is also sold and he swears on its quality. If you are at the port for a ferry or are staying at Lemons House (great value) or Bamboo Paradise, it'll be in close proximity. It's opposite to bamboo paradise hostel, and you pass it on your way to the Bias Tugal beach (nicest one in PB). Just follow the signs or ask the locals, the store is romantically located at the end of a small alley. You will see its worth a look!
