Terrifying Trip - Gili T to Bali
As per the review below I was also on board this boat journey back from the beautiful Gili T to Bali. This trip was a complete contrast to the quiet, calm morning boat journey we made a few days previously. It was raining when we left and the sea was slightly rough to begin, then from here things continued to get worse, to the point where the waves were huge, slamming against the sides of the boat - It definitely had the potential to capsize at certain points. I chose to wait at the end of the boat for a lot of the journey and get soaked by the spray of the sea, most were stood there because of being too sea sick to go back inside. I was there out of complete fear thinking if the boat did go over I'm not sure how many people would manage to exit and survive if inside. Whilst standing at the back from my lack of knowledge on boats it looked like there were problems with the engines as the crew kept on doing tests and seemed concerned at times. There were not adequate safety measures put in place and no reassurance was given from the crew - I couldn't even speak to my partner as he was too sea sick so it made the experience that even more worse. I would recommend if you take this trip then please check the weather as much as you possibly can and maybe consider postponing if it appears a storm could be on the way - Apparently the morning tends to be the calmer time of day to go.

    Not at all safe
The other reviews pretty much sum it up and I’m glad so many others share my concerns and that I wasn’t overreacting. Only rated 1* as you can’t rate 0* We were picked up from our hotel in an over crowded mini bus with no air conditioning and no indication of what port we were going to. We assumed it would be one nearest to where we were staying as this would make the most sense, they are all making the same journey. 3 hours later we realised this would not be the case. No regard for comfort as aside from no air con they sat small people in the largest seats while my partner and father in law (both 6foot4) were crammed into the back unable to move. Driver was on his phone constantly. Arrived at the port and it’s pretty unclear which boat you are supposed to be getting on but we figured it out. The boat itself is an absolute disaster waiting to happen. There were other boats in the port making the same journey that did not look this way so it is not simply a case that that’s what they are all like and you have to just deal with it or not go. The boat was seriously overcrowded with emergency exit windows only large enough to fit a small very thin child. If something happened and the boat capsized or was sinking for whatever reason, majority of people on that boat would drown for sure as in a panic only a few near the door at the front and back would stand a chance of escape. I wasn’t the only one expressing these concerns on the boat either. When pulling up to Gili T you climb down the ladder and into the water a bit and go to the shore, I didn’t mind this at all but I did notice that all the other (safer looking) boats pulling up had steps to get their passengers to dry land. If you are unsteady on your feet for whatever reason you would struggle to remain balanced with the waves coming in and out and your feet getting buried in sand. I spent the entire time I was at Gili T worrying about the journey back and will never ever consider this company again, from what I saw there are many others that actually take passenger safety seriously
