Sunsets and seafood!
Towards the southern end of the beaches around Jimbaran Bay. A long, wide beach facing the sunset and in view of the airport. A cluster of seafood restaurants serve diners on the beach at sunset. On a Sunday morning, we found the beach almost empty and had great lunch at the restaurant Hatiku just south of the Intercontinental Resort. Sunday evening was crowded with people having dinner at sunset. The crowd was surprising for COVID times! The beach is more consistently clean near the restaurant clusters. We found the restaurants closed during the week, but we were there the week of Nyepi. So, you might want to call before going there just for dinner. From Uluwatu St in Jimbaran turn toward the coast onto Jl. Bukit Permai south of the Intercontinental.

There are better beaches in Bali
The beach is very quiet and peaceful during the day. There were only a few tourists out mostly hanging out at one of the many beach restaurants and bars. At night the beach becomes very crowded as it is very popular among locals. The sand is soft up to the tidal edge where it becomes mixed with gravel and shells. Unfortunately, the sand is also used as a latrine for the many many dogs who run wild in the area and you need to tread carefully when the tide is out. Swimming in the ocean is not the best as the water deepens gradually and you need to go out farther than is comfortable to swim. The waves are not bad but are to little to body surf or do any surfing.
