If you are planning a return trip to gilli trawangan it’s cheaper to purchase a one way ticket out and then book your return at the eka jaya office on gilli t. They will try say it’s more expensive at the Padang bai office, it isn’t. Be aware of people carrying your luggage from the taxi or off of the boat, this isn’t offered by eka jaya. It is just people trying to make some money. If that’s a service you’re willing to pay for then happy days, but if you don’t want that just firmly express you’ll carry your own bags. People are quite respectful, but will walk away with your luggage. We didn’t have any of the issues that others seemed to have but do be aware the gojek and grab doesn’t operate from Padang bai. Have transport organised in advance as it’s easier and less stressful than trying to navigate the hoard of taxi service operators at the bay itself. Also, there is an extra “tax” to get on the boat. We paid 10k per person. I am unsure if this was a legal fee. I gave 50k and did not get change when I asked for it. So be careful. If you go to the left hand side of the shelter and get onto the dock that way I think you could avoid the people asking for the “tax”.

Gets the job done i suppose..
Took this boat from Gili Air to Padangbai. After around 1 hour delay we were transported onboard a large motorized raft to the big boat as it is too big to come all the way in to the dock. The sea was extremely choppy but the crew did their best and handed out sick bags and collected used ones the entire trip. I wish they handled disembarktion better as it’s just total chaos. They unload all the bags while you, 100 other passengers and 50 taxi sharks crowd the area. Multiple people at the dock will lie to you and say they’re from Eka Jaya and ask you to pay more money for transfer. I ended up taking a private taxi as i was told the Eka Jaya shuttle takes 3 hours to where i was going. I still have no idea if this is true or the person really was from the company.. but in the end i got to my destination safely and as the boat is alot bigger than other companies it feels safer to use in choppy seas.
