The best megalithic stones in Formentera

Sepulcre megalític de Ca Na Costa is the most important megalithic structure in Formentera. It is located close to the Estany Pudent and near the little town called Es Pujols. You can see all structure, but only you can surround it, because it is closed by a fence. If you like very much this type of old constructions, it is so interesting and you can see beautiful views of the Estany Pudent (Smelly Lake, in English, but you can be calm, it is not smelly!), but if you do not like these type of old constructions, it is only stones on the roof. most important megalithic site in Formentera
This is the most important megalithic site left over from the Romanians. The site, whose origins date back to the early Bronze Age, was probably used between 2000 and 1600 BC. It is located north of Formentera, between the body of water known as Estany Pudent and the tourist center of Es Pujols. Discovered in 1974, it has made a major contribution to the history of Formentera because, until then, it was widely believed that the oldest human settlements dated back at most Punic era. The excavations have allowed to bring to light the remains of several people as well as ceramic and lithic artifacts. It's surrounded by a fence, so there's not much you can do here, other than have a quick look.
