Amazing.
Alberta and Jose Luis in 1999 began developing artisanal wine to taste at home, in the year 2005 they decided to make their first wine for sale, they wished they had the essence of sharing their profession and their journey through life. Jose Luis is in charge of the field, the operative part of the winery and make sure the vines give excellent results and to ensure that the parameters have been proposed as standard, while Alberta is the Winemaker of the winery, she is responsible for the management of winemaking processes and administration, both demonstrate their fellowship and giving in each of their bottles. Initially Jose Luis and Alberta chose the best plots and designed wines that would enter the market in 2006, the same year they began a new adventure: the construction of the winery, which has been opened since the summer of 2012 to the public for tasting and sales. In Xecue Winery our products are made with care, each wine has its own personality, range of wines are balanced by subtle feminine and masculine character sets, these particular traits are expressed on the label.

Heart of the Valley
After dining at Deckmans, we looked for a winery to taste at, and park our car for a while as we road our electric bikes to other wineries. This place was perfect. Jose, the owner, was very personable, poured and explained the wines, and smear and chatted with us for a while. The wines were excellent, named after animals in the indigenous peoples’ language. Jose’s wife is the winemaker. The tasting room has a nice view of the valley and a comfortable breeze flows through it. The wine is priced very reasonably. Jose showed us the adequate rental space if you’d like to stay there. It’s very centrally locates next to many other great wineries, and it’s not too hilly, making it a great place to ride your bike.

Best of Mexico
We did a wine tour of this area and went to a lot of various wineries. Hands down Xecue had the GREATEST tasting wine, the most laid back and relaxing environment and the friendliest staff. This is not only a must on any wine trip in this area, this is a must for Mexican wine. A bonus to all of that is how beautifully the owners (a couple of 25 years) have set up such a lovely family based business. The wife curates the flavor profiles while the husband runs the growing of the grapes and the staff and hospitality. You feel relaxed and happy at the vineyard. Great view, great food and most of all the best wine In Mexico, which runs circles around most California wines.
