A lot of scaffolding

As there is scaffolding around most of the columns there is really no big reason to enter the grounds as you can see all through the fence. But if you want to walk along to feel how very long this temple was - the largest in Greece - it’s worth the smal entrance fee. If you also want to see the Akropolis by the combination ticket and be sure also to visit the ancient Agora

    Imagination required!
We visited to make the most of our multi site ticket, and I agree with other reviewers that it wouldn’t be worth the admission otherwise. After seeing the other sites, it was a little disappointing, especially because most of it was covered with scaffolding. I do understand that it’s required to maintain and restore the structure, but still a shame for our visit. Just a few columns are left standing, but with the height of them, and the foundation marked on the ground, you can really imagine just how large it would have been during ancient times. The excavated bathhouse was great, and I really appreciated the way the archaeologists have laid out the remaining pieces of former structures to give you an idea of the shapes. Toilet facilities were rather smelly and could do with refurbishment.

Only worth it if you have the combo ticket
A collection of columns, very little information. In another city this might be an attraction, but this site is overshadowed by the Acropolis (literally and figuratively). If you have half an hour to spare and have bought the combination ticket that’s includes this site then have a wander round, it’s not worth paying for individually.
