Modest but lovingly curated

The museum is a modest one - but it’s clear the curators were very professional and spent time collecting and displaying artifacts of the island’s history. The role of Hydriots in the Greek War of Independence was particularly interesting. Note: the museum IS open as of April 2022.

    Nice exhibition
The building in which the museum is located dates from 1972. It matches the surrounding building perfectly, inside are three floors with displayed artifacts, mainly weapons, maritime related. Taken photographs is not allowed inside. All in all, nice exhibition, great museum.

    Hydra History
Small museum focused on Hydra history and antique nautical equipment. The museum was also exhibiting local art which was available for purchase. Right near the port so great place to start your time in Hydra
