    Glorius Greek Naval History
The well maintained Averof Battleship represents the turbulent history of Hellas during the Balkan wars of 1910s, goes through the first Word War and ends at the second Word War. Almost 50 years of glorious naval history. It fought victoriously under the command of legendary Admiral Kountouriotis and other Commanders at Aegean Sea, the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean. If at the Athens Riviera it deserves to take an hour and visit this living peace of history.

    The Averof battleship museum
Had a wonderful tour of this amazing ship. My grandfather served on this ship many, many years ago so made a point of visiting this floating museum whilst in Athens. It blew me away! Such a great experience and great information and videos about the ships battles. It surprises me that not many people know of this museum. It's a must see when in Athens. Unfortunately most of the rooms are now closed to the public and you can only view them from the windows. In any case you can get a great feel for it and it's extremely well looked after.
