Very pleasing experience worth recommending

Due to current Coronovirus restrictions we are sadly unable to offer our usual guided tours - instead visitors are given leaflets (English or Greek) with detailed information regarding the exhibits. Staff are of course available to answer any questions you may have. The number of people allowed in the Museum at any given time has been reduced in order to comply with the social distancing measures. We will resume our guided tours as soon as the restrictions are lifted. Bouboulina’s Museum is family-owned and since opening in 1991 has been visited by over 500,000 people, who have been moved by the fascinating story of this heroine of the Greek War of Independence. .**Also available are leaflets with Bouboulina's story only , in Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, French, German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish

An intersting history of an extraordinary lady
Laskarena Boubolina plays an important part of the history of Spetses. A woman building and manning her own navy force in the freedom fight against the Turks 200 years ago is something unique. After her death she was appointed an honoraryRussian admiral thanks to her her cooperation in the Greek freedom fight.

    very interesting
Let yourself be captivated by the story of the fearless Laskarina Bouboulina, intrepid patriot of the 19th century and post-mortem admiral told directly in her house, which has been transformed into a museum. Her life could be shown in an exciting action film: she was born in a prison in Constantinople, moved as a child to Hydra and raised in Spetses. She married twice and a widow twice. He fought for her nation by winning numerous naval battles as a "captain" until he died unexpectedly from a gunshot to defend one of his children who wanted to marry a local girl against the will of her family. At the port, you can admire the statue dedicated to the most illustrious daughter of this small island.
