Stunning jungle adventure close to Florencia
I happened to spend my birthday in Caquetá this year and took the day off, seeking to get to know the area and roam through the jungle for a bit. I asked around and found out there's a few natural reserves around Florencia that are safe-havens of environmental protection in the area. I got in touch with Guillermo, who is socio of El Horeb and offers tours through the reservat. Guillermo really went out of his way to make my day unforgettable! He picked me up at my hotel in Florencia in the early morning and got me back safe at night. He's very dedicated to the entire project of environmental protection and to make people aware of the importance and the beauty of the Amazon, he knows the most magical and hidden places within the reservation and led me to awe-inspiring natural sites. I spent the day floating in rivers, exploring caves and even chilling in a hammock for a decent siesta. Food (lunch) and great company were included.
