Superb views
Great drive up from Arriondas very winding road , only go on a clear day fantastic views when you get to the top.park in the car park and walk the short distance to the observation platform. You can see for miles all along the coast and the snow topped mountains inland certain times of year.

What a view!
My husband and I were staying in La Isla and decided to take a morning drive up the mountains. It only took 15minutes to get there and it's an easy drive. Beautiful views of the coast and the mountains. What a spot! Indescribable really.... Great souvenir shop there also and snack/drink shop. GO!

A dramatic drive to an even more dramatic viewpoint
The drive up towards Arriondas from Colunga and the A-64 Oviedo-Bilbao motorway doesn't take much more than 15 minutes to reach the top of the pass but it is quite dramatic with its hairpin bends and precipitous edges. The Mirador (viewpoint) is located at the top (600 metres). Parking is no problem and you can ascend an extra 10 metres using a structure resembling an Olympic swimming pool diving board. The view from there is simply spectacular along the Asturian coast, down into the surrounding valleys and towards the Picos d'Europa.(2650 metres).
