I'm a kid and I loved it!

I'm an eleven year old girl and i loved it. It is amazing! You think your just in a simple every day botanical garden, but there is much more to it. If you explore properly, you find you enter an amazing forest with a river, and then, as you walk, you find an arrow that leads towards the kids forest, where as you go, you find an amazing and super fun park hidden in the trees. It is a lovely garden filled with all sorts of surprises you don't expect. i recomend it for family's with kids.

A Delightfully varied place to Relax
We visited the gardens in October. They weren't exactly as we had imagined but we were really taken by the tranquil setting and varied garden landscapes. There is an ancient woodland, a old private garden with a naturalistic swimming pool hidden in the trees, a woodland walk by the stream, a productive garden and a small museum. It is not a place where plants or vistas are "in your face" and anyone expecting a great garden like Kew Gardens in London or the Royal Horticultural Gardens at Wisley will be disappointed... but we enjoyed lingering, taking pictures of autumn crocuses, watching butterflies, spotting the odd dragon-fly and seeing the sparrows gorge themselves on ripe figs and persimmons. There is a small museum on garden history. It is really interesting and we would have loved to have had more time to go through it. There is some really beautiful architecture close to the museum, a small pleasant cafe and decent toilet facilities. We liked best the chance to sit and watch and take in the subtleties of the place. Take a camera and have enough time to sit and relax. Top Tip: Do not arrive early... they open exactly on time.

    Something special
I love Botánico, is one of my favourites places in Gijon. You can find a lot of painters having inspiration of the beautiful corners. There is a little " river " inside and a 20th style bathhouse that is something special. The price to get in is around 2€. During summer time, you can enjoy the Botanico Nights having a funny show telling stories about the Asturias mythology. Nice experience!
