    Worth a visit
Enjoyed our visit here. The guide seemed to know alot of the history BUT it would have been more enjoyable if maybe part of the tour or videos were in English too. We appreciate we are in France and understand and speak french as best we can but it’s all spoken so fast understanding is difficult. Maybe just an English leaflet would be good, however, really good value for 4€ each

    Nice grounds - small museum
We were underwhelmed by this museum. The tour itself lasted about 20-30 minutes and was moderately interesting. The museum was focused on Napoleonic history and Josephine's life, and is primarily located in the downstairs of the plantation house (the upstairs is not accessible). The ruins of the sucrerie itself are located across the road and can only be viewed from the outside. Because of time constraints, we had to choose between this attraction and "La Savene des Esclaves." I wish we'd opted for the latter. This place is probably best suited for those especially interested in the life and times of Josephine (Napoleon's wife).
