Amazing
This is a once in a lifetime event that happens every ten years in a small village named oberamagau. The village itself is full of wood carving shops and plenty to eat. The passion play at oberamagau is totally in German with no surtitles(this is its only drawback). Over 2500 cast appear over the five plus hours of the play, there is a three hour interval for food between the two acts. There is quite a lot of choral work and at times it did feel like an.operatic performance. All the players live locally and are all amateurs, this does not lessen the enjoyment or professionalism of the production. A great experience.

What a Blessing
I have been two this play twice. Once as a kid, which I only remember vaguely, and the other was this year (2022). This year my wife and I observed the Play, The Holy Land Tour, Parables of the Potter, and David the Sheppard. My favorite experience was watching the Potter and hearing his description of how God molds us to be more like Him through a relationship with Christ. You watch as he completes a unique vessel and then you experience the Play covering from Lazarus being raise to Christ's ascension. What an incredible experience overall! Definitely worth it! Oh and the buffet dinner is amazing!!!!
