Amazing excursion

Great excursion both in winter or summer! And my dog loved it too! It has a very nice scenery! But please put on the right gears.

    Beautiful scenery
In mid-May, the majority of the trail was still covered with snow, which made the going a bit tougher than I'd imagine on a dry path. It was also overcast and rainy when we went, but still a wonderful walk. We did the hike in a little under and hour each way. We stopped frequently to gawk at the scenery, the marmots, and the remnants of avalanches. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful. The waterfall at the end is a nice payoff, with Aneto rising in the background.

Nice hike but Avanza bus is traumatic for dogs, upgrade the area for dogs!!
This is a nice, easy, lovely hike and worth going to see the falls, and if you are still full of energy, you can hike up beyond to the Coll de Toro where you can find an alpine lake. Unfortunately, one problem i wanted to pojnt out is the condition of the buses for dogs. In summer you are allowed only to go as far as the Llanos de Hospital parking lot, and from there you can take a bus which takes you to the next parking lot, Besurte. They will not take dogs inside the bus, but they will take up to two (only two!) in the hold below. The problem is the bus company which the Aragonese government has contracted, Avanza, has not converted all their buses to hold dogs safely. Last year the bus was fine, as it had converted the luggage areas into two cages big enough for almost any dog. But this year, there were no cages: they had simply sat two very small portable dog kennels, the kind you would take on a plane, but they were TINY (not big enough for a dog over 10kg) and also slid around. In our bus, the driver let three dogs on, but two were too big and were just tied to a pole under the bus! And you pay $1.50 for the dog for this 20-min nightmare ride for them. I ask Avanza and the Aragonese government to do a better job: convert ALL the Avanza buses in use for the more humane large cages, there is room for 4 dogs easily per bus. So many people take their dogs to the mountains, there is no excuse to do this better.
