nice snorkeling but all legs solar protection is important
We arrived early at high tide, but went several times snorkeling while tide was going fully down. This gave close look at turtles, parrot fish, color changing octopus, and floating in an aquarium full of sparkling fish. Make sure white people have long leg covering against the sun. The quality of the half day trip was enhanced by our tour operator who made a sumptuous lunch on the beach, in the shade, just for the two of us. Also we walked up to the lighthouse, looking at the lemurs half way. The site becomes crowded at lunch but closes at about 15:00 hrs so everybody is home before dark.

An epic day out!
We had a simply magical day at Nosy Tanikely which we did from Antoremba lodge. It is a beautiful marine protected area with lots of stunning fish & corals. We snorkelled with turtles and were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins very close-by! A highly recommended excursion while you are in the Nosy Be area! Wear a rash vest to avoid being stung by plankton or bit of jelly fish or something like that in the water, it wasn't bad and only in one of three areas we tried, but best to avoid it. And don't step on corals!! :)
