The best snorkeling around Nosy Be
Incredible experience. I loved it so much I went there twice! As you look at the beach area from the sea, to the far left is the best coral reef I've seen in my life. It is a living reef with many colors and fish of all kinds. It's an underwater jungle. Closer to the beach is the sea grass with huge turtles everywhere. They are bigger than me from head to tail. These turtles are not shy and they are used to people swimming over, under and around them. Please don't grab them or harass them. Easy snorkeling in shallow water with easy beach or boat access. One can swim from the beach. Clean, clear water. Shopping on the shore with the locals.

Simple serenity
We loved our stay at Sakatia Lodge - basic but beautiful. The highlight of this small lodge is the wonderful staff - friendly engaging and helpful - and never without a smile! Our adult family of 5 loved the diving - esp with turtles - and the abundance of natural beauty from a boa to Frederick the resident honey-loving gecko. The island walk is recommended as is the walk up the hill behind the village to see the sunset. And the boat trip around the island with various snorkeling stops was so worthwhile. Hope to be back when simple life and unwinding needed!
