Arvi park

This sprawling nature reserve covering almost 40 acres is located on top of a hill just outside Medellín. It's a popular place for picnics and has plenty of nature trails for hiking or cycling. An experienced tour guide will be able to point out endemic species like butterflies and orchids amidst the lush forest. Don't forget to pop by the local market—which is at its most bustling on the weekends—to find local produce, handicrafts, and souvenirs. While you can drive there, one of the most scenic ways to get there is to ride Medellin's Metrocable L Line, which requires a separate ticket from the standard metro line. – Tripadvisor

Historic and interesting park to visit. we used the Metrocable.
Looking for something different to do, we decided to pay a visit to the Arvi Park on the eastern slopes of Aburrá Valley. Not having a car we caught the metro from the Poblado station and traveled to the Acevedo station, from where without leaving the station, we transfer to the cable car that whisked us over the roof tops of the less fortunate to the Santa Domingo cable station. Once at Santa Domingo we boarded the Metrocable gondola for the longer ride at 10 miles an hour, way up and over the hills and through the woods of Arvi park to the Metrocable terminal. These gondolas are equipped with sola light and communication system, and are designed to carry 8 small people, so when boarding choose your fellow passenger carefully, we had a modern family with two restless young children with us when we traveled. The Arvi Park is very large, covering some 16,000 hectares of land of which 1,760 is forests, it also has 54 miles of assorted walkable trails. From the Metrocable station there are different kinds of hiking trails posted, for the less adventurous there are wildflower or butterflies watching trails, but do read the signs before you go. For the more adventurous you can take the trail called "Camino Cieza de León" or the "Prehispanic Trail", parts of this trail are more than 1,500 years old. It is very wide, built of stone, and still has preserved sections of Prehispanic buildings, ponds, old roads and earth works, check with the park office for more details, and we would recommend you also use the service of a local tour guide. We resisted the temptation having seen far too much of the park from the Metrocable, and settled for Lunch and a beer while exploring the local farmers market. Tip: Everything in moderation, the park is nice but it’s a day trip there and back from Medellin.

    Arvi park
Arví park is in Medellín city and it is a beautiful place, where you can do many activities. For example, tours in the forest, walk throuhg the permitted paths or with a official guide. In the route, you can see animals, a lot of plants, creeks or lakes and differents structures: bridges of wood and old houses with their stories. There were myths and legends about the zone, for example, whitches in the trees. There were a lot of restaurants and small places on the street to eat: "obleas" with a lot of arequipe, typical food and others. Also, there was a private park of Comfama with activities of aventure: garrucha and others attractions. The transport is cery interesting, I went in Metro cable, is very popular in the city and it is very cool. I went with may family, we had lunch and walked for all the park. It was a good moment together. I had a lot of fun.
