Must See Art Museum w Botero Floor
This is the best museum in Medellin for Colombian modernist and some historic art. The impressive full floor of Boteros and rhe Botero sculptures in the adjacent plaza need at least an hour. Don't miss the rest of the collection which needs adequate time to appreciate. Not the nicest part of the city but a "must see" attraction. Great and affordable priced gift store.

Good Museum with Botero a Speciality
Were joyed irrelevant visit to this city centre museum on Botero Square. Outside are sores of Ferbabdo Botero sculptures dotted around the square abd inside a whole floor of the museum is dedicated to Botero's work, mainly his paintings. It costs the equivalent of less than €5 to go in but ve warned, the guards are snarls and unfriendly, they really took from our visit. I get that they are there to protect the exhibits but they are so unfriendly and over the top that they definitely took away from our visit. It's a good museum though, don't let them get to you.

Worth a visit
This is the major art museum of Medellin. The main draw is the third floor devoted mainly to Botero works. We had already visited the Botero museum in Bogota, so we were interested to see how this compared. On balance we preferred the Bogota museum. There is a greater date range of his work here, quite a lot of early stuff that does not feature in his dedicated museum , but not so much work when he was at his peak. The second floor is dedicated mainly to Colombian artists post 1945 and although there are a few interesting mix media displays, from a personal perspective we didn’t find this quite as interesting. The first floor was a temporary exhibition which we found to be skippable. Overall the museum is still worth a visit particularly for anyone who has not visited the Bogota museum.
