Medellin Metrocable, Antioquia Department, Colombia

An aerial view to the city of the eternal spring
The Metrocable is a gondola lift that links the city center with the surrounding hillside communities. More than just an efficient mode of transportation, it is also a convenient and affordable way to see Medellin, offering breathtaking views of the city and surrounding countryside. Your regular metro ticket covers the cost of the 30-minute ride, and you can take the trip multiple times as long as you do not exit the station. The hilltop residents make their daily commute on the Metrocable so it can get busy during peak hours. And take note of the timing of the last car from the top. – Tripadvisor

The newly opened LINE P metrocable - El Progreso, spectacular!
So I have been watching them build this new Line P metrocable for the past 3 plus years and decided today to ride it to it's end at El Progreso and so glad I did. This was just opened this month of June 2021 and I must say what a great engineering and construction this new cable car is. It runs about 2.80 km and connects with the existing metroat Station Aceveda and ends up the mountain at El Progreso. The ride one way takes about 15 to 20 minutes but the views are great. They are still working on the finishing touches around the new stations but but admit how impressed I am with the quality of this cable cars and everything associated with it. Take a ride up and see for yourself. The people (paisa) of Medellin should be proud of this new cable car.

Wow!
This is an inexpensive way to get amazing 360 deg views of the city. It’s a 15 minute ride from the San Javier station to the end, a total 3 stops. You could either stay in the cable car and ride back to San Javier or get off and get some pics and get back on the next cable car. If you leave the station you have to buy another ticket. If you remain at the station you don’t have to buy another ticket for the ride back. This is a must do in Medellin
