White sand on a long, lovely beach

We love this beach in the mornings, afternoons and at sunset in February and March. We take snacks and drinks and settle in with a good book or walk to find shells and sand dollars. There's plenty of parking, new manned life guard stations and plenty of sprawl so folks are not on top of one another. A restaurant near the southern end of beach serves simple things as well as sodas, beer and adult beverages and has plenty of seating if you care to eat or drink there. Picnic tables and changing huts are strategically placed along the walking path that runs parallel to the beach. Driving to the beach can be easy or can take a while depending on the time of day and if construction is taking place on or before the island. Also the light on the island at Gulf Drive N and the Cortez Road W bridge can cause traffic to backup in any or all three directions.

    Nice white sand beach
Coquina Beach is a very pretty beach with plenty of parking (free) and a small beach cafe. Beautiful white sand to enjoy. There were z lot of people but it didnt seem crowded at all. We are staying in Anna Maria and it was a short drive. It was fun trying different beaches in the area.

    Great Beach
There are 3 really great beaches in the area Siesta Key, Lido, and Coquina. This is my favorite. Parking is plentiful and adjacent to the beach. Unlike the other 2 beaches, the concession stand is right on the beach. Renting umbrellas and chairs are much cheaper. It is a better beach for shelling especially at its south end. Changing booths are plentiful. If the sun becomes too much, you can pull your chair under the shade of palm trees on the edge of the beach.
