Much more than a dam
This is in fact a whole village, not just a dam, adjunct to Shexian's south east corner. The ancient village is beautiful and well worth visiting. It's unspoiled, almost all original buildings were preserved and walking its streets and alleys is a real treat. Take notice that the entrance ticket is included in the ticket for Huizhou Ancient City.

The live fossil of ancient Chinese Fishery
Like Dujiangyan Irrigation System in Sichuan province, this dam in Huizhou ancient town conveys lots of wisdom and perspiration from which you can all of a sudden feel the power of ancient Huizhou people's knowledge applying on irrigation and fishery but also the prosperity once ancient Huizhounese established and bulit up.
