Enjoyable cable car ride and great views
Friday 20th of May and we walked from our accommodation near Paloma Gardens to the ground station of the Cable Car. It was a good way to see a different side of Benalmádena, it took us about 20 minutes. When we arrived we purchased our tickets at the ticket office, a standard return ticket was €17.90 and a reduced rate ticket was €13.90 a total of €31.80, including 10% tax, for both tickets. The journey, adventure, took approximately 15 minutes and took us to a height of 636 metres up the mountain, Monte Calamorro. Initially we passed over a Theme Park, which was closed. As we travelled higher up the mountain the views did be come more panoramic. Firstly with views of Benalmádena and expanding along the Coasta del Sol including Malaga, Torremolinos, Fuengirola and more. At the top Cable Car Station there is a souvenir shop, toilets and a cafe. From here we climbed the rustic stone steps to the summit of the mountain at almost 780 metres. On a clear day the views from here are spectacular and as far as Gibraltar, the African Coast and the snow capped mountains of the Sierra Nevada, sadly not today, but still great views. Having climbed to the summit and back down, we did appreciate a sitt down during our return cable car journey. As well as the Cable Car the mountain is also home to the Eagle Sanctuary, where daily displays are held. There was an entrance fee of €5 per person, we did not venture in, think there was a wait of about 90 till next show. We really enjoyed the experience.

    Quick visit
Great ride to the top, some lovely views from the cable cars themselves with running commentary whilst on the cars about things around you. Once at the top lots to see and walks around. Cafe, toilets, and a bird show at an extra cost of 5 Euros, which we missed as we went up late in the day. we only spent an hour just a quick look around but do thing if you did the bird show and a good walk then you could easily pass a good few hours up there. I considered it well worth the cost and would do it again but earlier in the day to make the most of it.
