    History uncovered
We visited this site and had a nice short guided tour of the facility. The story was very interesting. The site was a hair salon, in more modern times, which was built on what now is known to be a synagogue dating back to the 14th century and was discovered by chance while the building was being evaluated for a real estate project. When the discovery was made the building project was stopped and instead recovery works were started to uncover the historical site. A mikveh, or natural water pool used for purification rituals was also discovered here along with a women's gallery, reportedly signifying that this mikveh was specifically utilized by women only.

    Great historic synagogue
We enjoyed seeing everything inside this ancient synagogue, however the tour was only in Spanish. We did have a English booklet to follow along in but it's not the same. We wish the guide could've given us one sentence description of each room.
