Simply extraordinary!
A ‘must do’ architectural building being the largest wooden structure in the world. The box office is in the basement of the structure where you can also see the Roman remains uncovered when excavating the site for the building. The price for entry varies during the day by a few euros with evenings apparently being the most expensive as visitors ascend to the roof to watch the sunset and the ever changing coloured lights come on to illuminate the building. Discounted ‘pensionista’ entry tickets are available for seniors on production of photo ID – TOP TIP Always have a photocopy of your passport with you rather than your actual passport which you can leave in your hotel safe. There is a gift shop on the exit route that features more stylish (and expensive) ‘art’ objects than found in your normal attraction site. NOTE -For those troubled by heights, there are no ‘sheer drop’ views as there is always part of the roof below the very sturdy metal walkway.

Light show
We booked online in advance for the 8pm light show which was 10 Euros each, there is a queue for tickets on the door so worth booking ahead and you can just scan your tickets and head straight in. It would have been nice if a family ticket or child discounts were available online but we could only find family tickets for the more expensive package to include the “finding Seville” movie which we didn’t want to do. We arrived a bit early just as the sun was setting and got to enjoy the spectacular views over the city with the floodlit cathedral and all the churches of the city lit up. The light show starts at 8pm and seems to run continuously through the evening rather than being a timed event, it was very beautiful and relaxing. We spent just over an hour there and all the family including our teenagers really enjoyed it.

It’s high but hyped
Went to visit the ‘mushroom’ today. Was told to go at sunset to get the best 360’ views. It’s is an impressive structure which is well worth going to see. Is very high and spans across the road. It is reported to be the biggest wooden structure in the world. So go see it and be impressed by it. The ticket office isn’t easy to find. From the road facing the steps, the ticket office is ground floor on the left hand side. You can queue for tickets which are €15 each. They are €13 if you log in on line and buy them by not queuing, however once we’d downloaded the app you have to register your country of origin. Bit hard when the app recognises Nicaragua but not England, Scotland, Wales, Great Britain or United Kingdom. So we queued to pay the higher price. The €15 includes a walk through an area of screens which I think play a documentary. Whilst in the queue we found in the small print at the bottom a ‘viewing platform only’ option for €10. Saved ourselves some more money and took that option. Gets you up on top of the structure and allows you to walk the whole walkway -just don’t get to watch the video. From the top the walkway does meander. It is high so you do get 360’ views across the whole city of Seville. If the sky has no cloud you will get good views of sunset across the city rooftops. Unfortunately everyone else wants that too so expect it to be busy at sunset. The walkway is fairly long with a few shallow steps so there is plenty of room to get photos, no queuing to get views which is good. The walk back down is by a stairwell from the gift shop and there are lots more views of the floors and people below as you go down. An impressive modern ‘wonder of the world’ and worth attending. You can get cheaper tickets for viewing only if you’re not bothered by not seeing the documentary. Kids under 5 are free. There are also some concessions. Family of 4 ticket us €40. If you’d been up the bell tower previously you’d have seen all the same rooftops. Do one high view platform and not all of them.
