One visit per holiday
You can’t really visit this area and not have even just a brief walk around this harbour. It is absolutely beautiful with the boat bobbing on the water with the white buildings in the mountains in the background. We tend to just explore rather than go in any of the very expensive and exclusive shops. There are plenty of restaurants and bars as well but you do tend to pay for the surroundings and views. Something new to see on every visit and we always enjoy our time there.

Unique, fascinating and lots of holiday makers watching the super rich
In the morning Puerto Banus is quiet and has a gentle pace. It is beautiful to see the harbour with the range of boats from modest 8 metre boats to super yachts, with the bars, high end shops and eateries so close. The only really noticeable sounds beyond the chatting of holiday makers, and boats coming and going under minimal power are the occasional jet skis being tested and the engine noises from super cars. In the evening it is a different town, super cars being dropped off for concierge services to park, and the not so flash driving along the harbour front looking to park (where access is strictly limited to pass holders), the milling of people moving between bars and restaurants and a vibe that is full of anticipation for a night out. All in all Puerto Banus is worth a visit, but it has its considerations… parking is pricey, drinks are typically 5 euros for a coke, and many other drinks considerably more, so not surprising that it is relatively easy to get a table If you want to people watch, walk the harbour and soak up the atmosphere you’ll love it. If you wanted to see a typical port, it isn’t. Best but is the not so well publicised trips out to see you smaller yachts for example the dolphins at sunset experience that makes the visit true,y on to remember

Beware!! Watch Thieves in operation
Beware in the Puerto Banus area especially on main streets where there is car access to get away. My husband left the Red Lion we walked along the road and a boy of around 15 was hanging around us and then cut the watch off my husbands wrist with a knife. He ran and my husband chased him after falling. The boy jumped in a blacked out BmW however it got stuck on the traffic my husband battered the windows and they threw his Richard Mille watch back out as my husband was about to smash their windows. He got it back but strap is sliced off. He has injuries cut on the wrist due to the knife , cracked ribs and bad cuts and bruises. A Romanian looking woman selling fans was sent to the restaurant to scout I am sure of this. Do not wear expensive watches in this area or even fakes as you will be targeted !!
