Great experience - and that’s no bull!
Founded by the local nobility at the end of the 16th century, the Real Maestranza maintains a horse-riding school and is also the builder of an impressive bullring, in the centre of the romantic town of Ronda, near Malaga and the Costa del Sol. In modern times, the principal activities are devoted to the conservation of its unique historical and artistic heritage. It has gained a deserved reputation for the recovery of archives, works of art, libraries and original documents relating to its history. The bullring is open to the general public all year round and the visit includes the Bullfighting Museum, the Royal Harness Collection and the Antique Firearms Collection.

Ronda visit
Even though we don’t agree with bull fighting we found the place very interesting. Lots of information and the history was very well explained. I would recommend a visit, it’s not expensive and well worth however long you decide to look around

At the most venerated bullring of all Spain!
You are just about to enter the oldest and most venerated bullring of all Spain! "La Real Maestranza de Ronda", home of the modern day bullfighting. It dates from 1785 and can accomodate 5,000 spectators. Check its baroque doorway, the unsual stone barriers and the seats supported by stone columns. It has been completely reestored and entry fee costs (expensive) E$7,00. Bullfighting is part of the Spanish traditional culture and Ronda's "Real Maestranza" is considered one of the most iconic bullrings of the whole country. Even if bullfighting is not among your main interests (and it isn't to many people), a visit to this arena, due to its historical role, could enrich your experience in Ronda and Andalusia. Enjoy!
